Greek Beer Awards: Celebrating the finest brews of 2024

The great winners of the 2024 Greek Beer Awards was undoubtedly the vibrant Greek microbrewery scene. Septem Microbrewery, hailing from Evia, received the Top Ale award for its “8th Day” label – which also garnered a gold in the India Pale Ale category. Siris Craft Brewery from Serres received the Top Lager award for “Voreia Pils,” which also secured a gold in the Modern Pilsner category.

Out of 108 labels that were evaluated, 47 were distinguished, with 10 making their debut at the awards. The event featured breweries from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Turkey, Israel, Italy, and Poland – with Poland’s Browar Trzech Kumpli taking home the most accolades. Among the winners were breweries participating in the World of Beer Festival, such as Candia Beer, Elixi Microbrewery, Sknipa Beer, and nomadic breweries such as: Midnight Gypsy Circus, Taos, Kirki and Valia Calda.

The Greek Beer Awards were held on the first day of the World of Beer Festival at Technopolis, Athens, drawing an impressive crowd and exuding a festive and lively spirit – as it should! BeerBartender has been organizing the awards since 2017, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Region of Attica, and the Greek-Italian Chamber of Athens with Fermentis by Lesaffre as the sponsor.
